Last Friday night I went out with my sister and two friends in Perth CBD. After my last experience of Friday night in Perth, I was told the CBD is buzzing and there are lots of people out and about.
The Aviary
Perth’s newest bar, The Aviary is right in the city centre, on Murray Street. It is a very popular place and the rooftop bar called “The Nest” was already busy at 4:30pm on a Friday afternoon. My sister and friend had to wait in line at 6pm to get in. Drinks were Perth prices $10 for a corona, around $15 for a cocktail. The Aviary also has a restaurant downstairs for a more formal night out. If you want to chill on the rooftop bar, while watching the sunset and having a few drinks, finish work early on a Friday and head over.
The Conservatory
This bar was a 5 minute walk from The Aviary and is located at just further down Murray Street, number 356. The bar has a 14m retractable roof as well as a terrace with views of Perth skyline. I was surprised but delighted to see a bbq area, but the food was for a private function. You can reserve an area for parties, but it can work out quite pricey. It was just $2 to get in but the beers were far more expensive than that. The ciders were around $12 – $15.
The Belgian Beer Bar
The Belgian Cafe bar was a little quiet on a Friday night. They do not have a late night license and close at 12:00. There is a nice garden out the bar and a second bar which is useful if the front bar gets too crowded. There was a variety of Belgian beers but they were quite expensive, up to $15 each. Maybe I just keep converting into British pounds, but I still thought it was a lot.
Tiger Lil’s
After the belgian bar, we went to Tiger Lil’s. I wrote a review about this place on Weekend Notes. This is a fun bar with my favourite music, R&B. It is a big venue and it can get quite messy here, but it has a nice outside area to chill if inside gets too much.
