I have been staying at Cottesloe in Perth, Western Australia for just over a month. Cottesloe is one of the most beautiful beaches near the city. A small sleepy seaside village, 30mins from Perth, there are a few great restaurants to visit while you are over:
Surf Life Saving Club
The Cottesloe surf life saving club is one of the oldest surf clubs in Australia. Everyone is really friendly and welcoming. They recently organised the Havainas Thong Competition. Anyone can become a member of the surfclub and they are currently running the Bronze surf life saver course giving water safety and training to those who will become a surf life saver. The surf club often has pizza nights and during the winter there are hog roasts at very reasonable prices. Prices for pizzas are $10 and beers are $5.
Cott Beach Hotel
The Cottesloe Beach Hotel has just undergone a big transformation and renovation. The whole back area is now a great restaurant/pub with 3 bars, meaning you should be served rather quickly. It is a great place to visit in the evening or even a lazy afternoon. There are plenty of comfy seats, tables to sit down and have a catch up with friends. The food is pretty good as well.

Fish and Chips
Amberjacks is the fish and chips bar right on the beachfront. It is $14.50 for a standard fish and chips and they are made quite quickly so you do not have to wait too long for your lunch/dinner. The portions are really big, so share with a friend, saves on the bank balance and on the calories.

Cimbalinos
This is my favorite restaurant in Cottesloe for breakfast and I have been here many times. The bircher muesli and the fresh fruit salad are the best. They also do a great blueberry smoothie for $6 and for those who love coffee, it is one of the better places to go in Cott. The service here is one of the best I have experienced in Perth.

Vans
Another great restaurant in Cottesloe is Vans. Located down the main street, next to the station, I went here for brunch with a friend and had the bruschetta and avocado for $21 (whole crushed avocado on organic multigrain, fresh basil, feta, tomato, vincotto, lemon oil). There are a wide range of breakfasts and brunch options including one of my favorites, buttermilk pancakes at $21.

There are many places to eat out in Cotteseloe. For those coming from outside Australia, be aware the prices are quite high with smoothies starting at $6.50, coffee from $4.50 and meals from $20. So make sure you bring enough Australian Dollars with you, or get a well paid job when you live in Australia.
