Last weekend I was going out for lunch with a friend and therefore I Googled the best cafés in Surry Hills.  FourAteFive,  located at number 485 Crown Street, has a 5 star TimeOut review and therefore I decided we would go and check it out.  We had to wait 40 minutes for a table as it was 12:30pm on a Saturday, but it was well worth it.

I chose to have the bircher-style muesli and the banana bread which was delicious. There is a selection of eggs, from $9 and from $3.50 for each additional bacon, sausage, tomato etc.  There is a wide range of fruit juices and smoothies and coffees at the cafe. Juices cost $6.50 and smoothies at $7.50. There is also an extensive lunch menu and they are tailored for the health conscious as they have a range of healthy salads from $16.

The café has a great atmosphere, the staff are friendly and there is an open kitchen where you can see the chefs hard at work.  It is very cosy and the table at the back sits up to 12 people, with strangers sharing this large table.  There are smaller are more intimate tables closer to the front of the café where the freshly made pastries are on display.

FourAteEight has a Facebook page, as well a main website where visitos can download the menu and choose what they want before they head to the café. What are you doing on the weekend? Make a plan to stop by FourAteEight for brunch/lunch or even a coffee, you will not regret it.
