Earlier this month, I wanted to start checking out my local neighborhood, Surry Hills. I have been living in Surry Hills/Darlinghurst for nearly 2 months but had not yet properly explored my neighborhood. It was raining on this particular Saturday and therefore the beach was not an option.
I walked down Crown street from Oxford street and found a number of different cafes. This one is the first of many to be reviewed on being30.com. I went to Kawa on 348a Crown Street. I read a lot of reviews about Kawa, one saying it is Sydney’s best cafe, so I thought I would check it out. It was a nice cafe, friendly staff, neutral decor, good selection of food, but the service was a bit slow even though when I was there, it was not busy. Usually on weekends, expect to wait a while for a table on the weekends, people are not moving in a hurry.
Don’t expect free WiFi, not all cafes in Sydney have this, but it Kawa was a nice place to go, do a bit of work, blogging, come with friends. The cafe is open 8:00 – 5:00pm Monday to Friday and 8:00 – 4:00pm Saturday to Sunday. Why not check it out for yourselves this weekend?
