Meeting Bloggers in Sydney – Bloggers Brunch

Australia Sydney

I was lucky to go to a bloggers brunch a couple of weeks ago in Centennial Park.  It was a great morning where I met a lot of bloggers, all of whom had started into blogging for different reasons.  The bloggers, some new to the business, some more established, were were at the brunch to meet many companies and businesses to work with them promoting products/services.

The event was set up and run by Kids Business which connect companies with mothers. Kids Business is an agency which was started by Christie 4 years ago after she discovered a gap in the market of brands working with bloggers. The company organises key events during the year to ensure brands engage with mothers who then share their experience to their audience.

Being a blogger myself, I thought this was a fantastic way to interact with the brands. Companies such as Kmart and Optus were at the event, while there were insurance providers like Choosi who were offering a prize to win a trip for two the Hunter Valley. As someone new to Sydney, I thought it was an interesting way turn insurance into something fun which really worked. Most of the bloggers at the event were women and they were given lots of free samples to take home with them.

Bloggers who have a big following and who update their site regularly are in high demand by brands wanting to promote their products. It is about relationship building, not just a transactional business.  People work with others who they trust and this was a great way to meet others face to face, in the age where most communication is done via email.

I would be very interested to meet other travel bloggers, if you know of any events taking place in Sydney, Australia, please let me know.
