Race for Life – Personal Best at 30

This weekend I took part in race for life.  I have done the race for life a few times before and have many 10ks.  This time was special.  I had a cancer scare earlier in the year, luckily with all the research that there is, it was stopped early.  I was relieved when I was given the all clear and it put everything else into perspective.

It was even more important that I did this race and ran for all those that have cancer and were not as fortunate as me.  I teamed up with some girls from work and we raised over 1600 pounds for Race for Life. It was a great day, sunny and warm,  we all completed it in good time.  It was my personal best, under 54 minutes.  Not bad for a thirty year old.  I only started running a few years ago.

My friend is trying to convince me to do the Run To the Beat in September, that is 20k, but if I can get my time to under 2 hours, then I might sign up.
