Vivid Light Festival

This past week Sydney has been transformed into a spectacular light show all part of an annual event called Vivid Sydney.  Vivid Sydney lasts from 24th of May until the 10th of June and has in the past attracted up to 500,00 people. The last night of the event will be on the Queen’s birthday weekend.

I went to the festival with a friend and was pleasantly surprised to see so many light sculptures all dotted around the circular quay and up to Walsh Bay.  The Sydney Writer’s Festival was on at the same time and there were lots of people around Walsh Bay giving it a great vibe.

Vivid includes not only light sculptures along Circular Quay and Walsh Bay, but also projections of light on the Sydney Opera House and the Museum of Contemporary Art.  There are also performances from local and international musicians at Vivid LIVE at Sydney Opera House and the Vivid Ideas Exchange.
