I love Barcelona and love the food. While I have been in this beautiful city, I have discovered lots of wonderful places to eat and drink. Here are just a select few, which I will be adding to as I spend more time in Barcelona.
Churros
For chocolate lovers, these are delicious, doughnuts with thick hot chocolate. I went to one of the most well known places for churros in Barcelona, called Dulcinea. The photo below is called the Swiss classic (hot chocolate and whipped cream) and costs around 5 euros.
Granja Dulcinea is in one of the smallest streets of the Gothic area, on Carrer de Petritxol. The Churro cafe is named was set up in 1941 by Juan Mach and ElviraFarràs. They sell not only traditional hot chocolate, but also tea, coffee and pastries for breakfast.

Pinchos
I love pinchos more than tapas. I went to this great restaurant in Plaza de la Seu, it is on the right of the Barcelona Cathedral if looking at the main entrance of the Cathedral. The pinchos are 1 euro 70 each and they range from seafood to meats and also desserts. Wait to get seated and then help yourself to as many pinchos as you like. Each pincho has a small stick and at the end the waitress counts the number of sticks to work out your bill.

For those who want to try out some delicious tapas, go to Carrer de Blai. There are loads of tapas bars along this street. The nearest metro station is Poble Sec.
Menu el dia
It really depends on the resturant you go to, but you can get quite a good deal. I went to quite a few while I was in Spain. I went to the Guitó Restaurant on Gran Via and had a starter, main course which was a steak and dessert from 14 euros. The staff were very friendly and attentive. I will certainly come back here again.

Cocktails
I went to the oldest cocktail bar in Barcelona called Boadas. It was set up in 1933 by Miguel Boadas who was the head barman at El Floridita in Cuba, a favorite bar of Ernest Hemingway. Miguel’s daughter, Dolores runs the bar. When I entered Boadas, it was like stepping back in time. There were cocktails of the day made by men in tuxedos and the decor was how it was back in the 1930s. I went early on in the evening, around 9:30pm, and there were a few seats free at the bar which was nice. The bar tends to get busy after 11pm when people want a cocktail after dinner.

Burning it off
And after eating and drinking so much, you may want to think about working out. I have been going to Cross Fit in the UK for 6 months and found a great Cross Fit in Barcelona. The people are really friendly and you can drop in, although the price per class is more expensive. Nearest station is Arc de Triomf on the red line.
