I love brunch and there are so so many options in Barcelona. I wrote a post about some of the places to have a late lunch a few years ago and since then, more restaurants have opened.

Firebug

I like Firebug, reasonable prices. Located on passeig San Joan, this place offers a wide range of brunch and dinner options. It is one of my favorite places to come for lunch. They have a large outdoor terrace and two floors inside. It is a good place for couples, singles and even there are high chairs for babies and toddlers. My favorite meal is the eggs benedict. This is the third restaurant opened by those who brought your Mike and Marmalade. The brunch menu includes bagels, sandwiches and burgers and is available until 4:30pm.

Elsa and Fred

Located on the corner of el born, right near the Arc de Triomf, this is  a cozy restaurant perfect for brunch as well as dinner and a late drink. Elsa and Fred is very popular, so make sure you reserve your table before you go. There were a variety of brunch options, but the portions smaller to where I have been before, for example at Firebug. Therefore it did work out more expensive.

El Arbol

The restaurant, meaning the tree, opened in October 2018 and it has not failed to disappoint. It is on the corner of Passeig San Joan Carrer Casp, There is a non stop kitchen and it is a busy place from morning until night. It is slightly more expensive than Firebug, but prices are still reasonable. They also serve delicious cakes, around 4.90 Euros each slice (but the slices are 2 portion sizes). There is natural and neutral décor inside even with swings as seats.

La Desayuneria

Pancake restaurant

This was a great place to go for lunch but it gets busy early. So arrive on time. They will not hold a table if there is just one person from the group there. I loved this place. There were home made pancakes and you could also have fried chicken. So your salt and savory can be on one plate. This is a family friendly restaurant, there were books for children and toys. The service was quick considering the amount of people there and the waiters were friendly. La Desaayuneria serves the best freshly squeezed orange juice too. On Thursdays, there is St Pancake’s day and where guests can have pancakes for as little as 3 Euros.

Billy’s Brunch

I went here for a friend’s birthday. We were able to reserve in advance which is not common for brunch. They had a wide selection of options. I shared some of the pancakes which came in at a reasonable 6 Euros. Open every day from 9:30 to 18:00. They have eggs benedict for 11 Euros and a English Breakfast for 13 Euros. The portions are very big, so this is great value for money. If you want to healthy, they also open acai bowls for 7.5 euros, avocado toast which chia seeds for 6 Euros.

There are more brunch places opening every month in Barcelona. There are many restaurants where you can relax and eat on the terrace, so wake up early to ensure your place. Let me know if you discover a new cafe/restaurant in the city and I will book myself in for a weekend brunch to sample the menu.
